ALEXANDRA Parade Drive-Thru Coffee Shop Plan Comes To The Boil Again

22 January, 2020 | News, Food and Drink

PLANNERS are being asked to approve a Starbucks drive-thru coffee shop on Glasgow’s Alexandra Parade.

It would be developed at the BP filling station between Craigpark and Lloyd Street, on land partly used as the car wash area.

Proposed opening hours are 6am to 10pm. Twenty jobs would be created.

A similar application last year for the site was withdrawn after concerns were raised about proposed parking and arrangements for vehicles entering and exiting the site.

But a statement submitted on behalf of the applicant — Motor Fuel Group — argues that the issues have been addressed in the fresh proposal by reconfiguring the layout.

The document also states: “The site will be a prominent, modern and attractive addition to Alexandra Parade. It makes best use of an existing brownfield and part-vacant site, bringing it into an economically-productive and appropriate use.”

The proposal is now pending consideration by council officials.
