FLATS Development In Parkhead Gets Go-Ahead

3 June, 2020 | Residential

A HOUSING association’s plan to build 36 flats at a prominent crossroads in Parkhead has been approved.

Glasgow City Council has given permission for the development by West of Scotland Housing Association at Springfield Cross, on vacant land at the junction of London Road and Springfield Road.

How the building is expected to look

The six-storey building will contain a mixture of one, two and three-bedroom flats suitable for families, the elderly and wheelchair users.

A design document included with the application stated: “The development will bring a number of benefits including the provision of social housing, for which there is an identified need locally, the transformation of a brownfield site on an important approach to Glasgow’s East End, and environmental enhancements.”
