FORMER Glasgow School Playground Can Be Used For Student Studio Development

5 June, 2018 | News, Student Accommodation, Schools

A STUDENT accommodation block can be built on a former school playground in Yorkhill, Glasgow City planners have agreed.

The building will be on the girls’ playground of the former Kelvinhaugh Primary School, in Gilbert Street at Teviot Street.

It will feature 100 student studio units.

The building will have five floors above ground and one level below ground.

There will be no parking spaces but 50 lockable cycle spaces will be provided in the lower ground floor.

A document submitted with the application states: “The development proposal will create a new coherent urban block which will complement the existing urban grain of the area.”
