GLOBAL restaurant chain Nando’s are moving forward with their plan for a new restaurant in Glasgow City Centre.

The company has made applications to put up signs and alter the frontage of premises at 1 Waterloo Street.

Documents submitted to Glasgow City Council show the eatery will have seating for 112.

The restaurant will be on the ground floor of an eight-storey office block at the corner of Hope Street and Waterloo Street.

A document submitted on behalf of Nando’s states:  “The proposals have been carefully designed having regard to the historic setting and the number of sensitive listed buildings in the vicinity, and are of high quality design, utilising suitable materials and finishes to complement the host building.

“This application will allow this internationally-recognised high street restaurateur to establish themselves in the heart of Glasgow City Centre.”

Change-of-use consent was given earlier this year, the premsies having previously been used as an electric vehicle exhibition, hire and charge-point area.
