MCDONALD’S Hope To ‘Go Larger’ With Toryglen Drive-Thru Plan

26 March, 2019 | News

RESTAURANT chain McDonald’s have submitted revised plans for a drive-thru restaurant at Toryglen.

The company already have permission for single-storey outlet with 107 seats at Asda on Prospecthill Road but have now applied for a two-storey building with 180 seats instead.

The original proposal was for part of the car park beside the road but the new plan is for an area in the northeastern part of the car park (pictured below).

It is an alternative to another already-approved plan for six commercial units.

If approved, the new McDonald’s development would result in an overall loss of 106 car parking spaces at the site — down from 615 to 509, 477 for Asda and 30 for the restaurant.

The application is pending consideration by Glasgow City planners.
