A CONTRACT worth around £14.5million has been awarded for a major housing development and conversion of a historic old school to offices in Govan.
CCG (Scotland) Ltd of Cambuslang will carry out the work for Elderpark Housing Association.
Seventy flats and 12 houses for rent will be built on the former Hill’s Trust School site at Nethan Street.
Sixty-seven of the flats will be in a continuous block over three, four and four-and-a-half storeys.
There will also be three two-storey blocks containing terraced houses and ‘cottage’ flats.
Meanwhile the B-listed former Hill’s Trust School building at Golspie Street will be turned into new offices for Elderpark Housing Association.
As well as internal and external alterations, a single storey rear extension will be built.
The housing association have previously stated: “This move will both save an iconic local landmark steeped in history and enable us to bring all our staff together to provide a more comprehensive service to our customers.”
