A DEVELOPMENT of 90 flats on a vacant site opposite the Tramway Theatre in Pollokshields has been given the go-ahead.

Glasgow planners have agreed that Dundas Estates and Development Co Ltd can build a six-storey complex at the former Walker Woodstock Timber Yard on Albert Drive at Barrland Street, beside the railway line.

The development will feature a terraced block and a free-standing block connected at the ground and first floor level. Most of the flats will have two bedrooms.

Documents submitted to Glasgow City Council by Hypostyle Architects, on behalf of the applicant, stated: “The proposal offers an attractive and safe environment to potential residents within a sustainable development.”

Private parking — 72 spaces — will be provided within a controlled-access rear court.
