THIRTY-two homes for private rent are being proposed for a site in the Hurlet area of south west Glasgow.
John Wright Properties Ltd have applied to develop the site of a former council grounds maintenance depot at 1514 Barrhead Road, close to the boundary with East Renfrewshire.
A design statement submitted by Atelier-M Architecture and Design explains: “There is to be a variety of housing types and sizes of accommodation to meet the housing needs within the local rented market.
“The development is to be designed so that tenants would aspire to living in the development for a long time due to its attractive and safe environment.”
It continues: “John Wright Properties Ltd (JWP) have completed and are currently developing properties for private rent in the Glasgow area.
“The properties are retained by JWP and rented out at the market rate depending on the location of the development. The development at Barrhead Road will be part of their growing portfolio of properties.”
There will be seven blocks, mainly of flats and townhouses, predominately of two and three-storeys., ranging from three to eight-person homes.
The proposal is pending consideration by Glasgow City planners.
