PLAN To Use New City Centre Waterfront Building As Hotel

PERMISSION is being sought to use a new building beside the Clyde in Glasgow as a 290-bedroom hotel instead of student accommodation.

The 17-storey structure on Clyde Street is nearing completion.

Planning documents do not reveal if an operator has been lined up for the premises.

The change of plan by the site owner is in response to a change in the market, couple with permission previously being given for a hotel there in 2007.

The change-of-use application is pending consideration by city planners.
