PLANNING Committee In Favour Of Pacific Quay Hotel

7 November, 2020 | Hotels

COUNCILLORS have backed a plan for a new hotel on Glasgow’s riverfront.

The planning applications committee voted in favour of the 150-bedroom, eight-storey Holiday Inn with rooftop bar/terrace at Pacific Quay after a special hearing.

The application now has to be referred to Scottish Ministers for their approval because there was an objection from the SCottish Environmental Protection Agency over flooding.

The site is beside the STV headquarters and has been vacant for several decades.

Glasgow’s development plan limits use of the land to business or industrial purposes and planners had recommended refusal.
