SEVEN-Storey Apartment Block Proposed For Disused Restaurant Site Near Kelvingrove

10 September, 2018 | News

PLANNERS are being asked to approve demolition of a disused restaurant/cafe building in Glasgow’s West End and a development of ‘high-end’ apartments in its place.

The one-storey premises in North Claremont Street were last occupied by Arcaffe restaurant and The Sandwich Concept cafe.

Applicant North Clairmont Street Properties Limited want to build 12 single-storey and duplex apartments on the site which is near Kelvingrove Park.

The building would have seven floors plus a basement.

There would be an amenity space at the rear of the property including seating and planted areas, along with bicycle storage. Two parking spaces would be provided.

Documents by DO Architecture included with the application state: “Our client foresees the owner mix to be a variety of young professionals in the smaller flats and small to medium-sized families occupying the larger duplex flats.”

The proposal is pending consideration by Glasgow City planners.
