SIX Glasgow City Centre Restaurant Bids Giving Planners Food For Thought

13 October, 2020 | Food and Drink

EVEN as eating out gets hit again by the pandemic, there’s still an appetite for restaurant plans in Glasgow City Centre, including two with a Korean flavour.

Half-a-dozen applications have been lodged in recent weeks.

Established Korean venue Bibimbap wants to extend into an empty shop next door on the corner of West Nile Street and Gordon Street.

It has applied for permission to change the use of the premises.

At the top of Hope Street, a new Korean restaurant, with takeaway, is proposed by Sodaeng, which has an outlet in Edinburgh.

Seating at ground floor and mezzanine levels is proposed.

Shop premises at 115 Sauchiehall Street are also subject of a restaurant/hot food takeaway application. No further details are given in planning documents.

And it’s a similar situation with a proposal for the retail unit at 25 Renfield Street, currently occupied by Moss Brothers.

As previously reported, there are also applications being considered for the former Pizza Express unit in Sauchiehall Street and another Hope Street location.
