SIX-Storey, 90-Flat Application Submitted For Site In Pollokshields

31 August, 2018 | News, Residential

NINETY flats are being proposed for a vacant site opposite the Tramway Theatre in Pollokshields.

Dundas Estates and Development Co Ltd have applied for planning permission to build a six-storey development at the former Walker Woodstock Timber Yard on Albert Drive at Barrland Street, beside the railway line.

A terraced block and a free-standing block connected at the ground and first floor level are proposed.

Most of the flats have two bedrooms. There would be two three-bedroom properties.

Documents submitted to Glasgow City Council by Hypostyle Architects, on behalf of the applicant, state: “The proposal offers an attractive and safe environment to potential residents within a sustainable development.”

There would be secure cycle storage at a rate of one bike per flat.

Private parking — 72 spaces — is provided within a controlled-access rear court.

The application is pending assessment by planning officials.
