HILLWOOD Community Trust have drawn up plans for a sports pavilion and community space.

The building is proposed for a site beside the pitches at 2 Priesthill Road in Greater Pollok, to the south of Silverburn shopping centre.

The facility, to be used by Hillwood Football Club, would include changing areas, a multi-purpose room and warm-up kitchen. Twelve parking spaces would be provided.

Currently the football pitches are serviced by temporary changing rooms and storage facilities within shipping containers

A planning application has been submitted to Glasgow City Council.

A statement by architects Lifschutz Davidson Sandilands explains: “The pavilion will provide the client with a simple and robust facility to enable them to provide a safe and secure base from which they can grow and provide a sporting focus within the community.

“The proposal will represent an efficient and compact design solution suitable for a football club of this scale.”
