WORK is well underway on a massive student accommodation development on former Glasgow shipyard land.

The £40million complex is taking shape on the site of Scotway House, the former Meadowside Shipyard drawing office.

The building in Castlebank Street is on part of the Glasgow Harbour development area, across from the Riverside Museum and beside the Clydeside Expressway.

Structured House Group (SHG) is behind the project which will have around 400 student beds plus two restaurants, a library, study rooms, screening rooms, private dining, and a co-study area.

Scotway House, part of which will be 15 storeys high, is due for completion in August 2019.
